我剛開始輸入中文字的時候，我總是用拼音來輸入中文字。用拼音打字很方便，但是只有用拼音就很容易忘記怎麼用手寫中文字。現在我認識大概八百個字，可是一直忘了怎麼用手寫，所以我買了一塊手寫板。

使用手寫板輸入中文字很簡單，只要把手寫筆在手寫板上寫字，不是選擇哪一個字，而是要記得怎麼寫。對我來說，用手寫板來輸入字比用鍵盤又慢又難。

我希望用手寫板輸入字會幫我學中文。

這個禮拜我跟宜暄的聖誕禮物終於來了。媽媽送我們的禮物非常大。最持別的禮物是我媽媽親手做的棉被，棉被上面一共有二十四個可愛小豬高興的臉。看我們拍的照片，就知道棉被多可愛。

臺灣像加拿大一樣，也有楓樹．最近，我發現了兩種楓樹．一種叫做「青楓」另外一種叫做「楓香」．它們兩種都看起來很像，人們常常分不清楚楓香和青楓的樣子．其實，青楓的葉子跟楓香的葉子看起來不一樣，青楓的葉子裂成五片，但是楓香的葉子裂成三片．

I finally got my New Year's Day photos off of the camera.  I took these near Cecilia's home in Gaoxiong.   On New Year's Day morning different temples will carry their idols around town to other temples.  One of the things they do when they get to a temple is to make a large pile of firecrackers.  Once the pile is big enough, then they carry the idol on top and wait until the firecrackers explode.  This is probably to allow the smoke to purify the area around the temple.

Phase 1: The people wearing the orange costumes are all from the Tiger Temple.  Some people are carrying the idol others are resting.  The ones you can't see are those resting.  They follow behind waiting for their turn to carry the idol.

Phase 2: The smoke is produced by an explosion from a large pile of firecrackers, approximately 1.5 meters in circumference and 10 - 20 cm deep at the center.  When it explodes there is a loud boom and then the smoke rapidly shoots straight up into the air.  None of the people standing directly in front of the smoke cloud were hurt.

Phase 3: After the explosion, the plume started to spread out slowly.  The paper from the firecrackers is also in the smoke.  Notice the ground is covered with many red bits of paper.  These are from previous firecracker explosions.

Phase 4: The idol they carried was not destroyed, its only bathed in the smoke.  If you look carefully you can see them carrying it to the next temple.  After they left the paper from the exploded firecrackers burned for a while bathing the entire area in smoke.

今年的高雄跨年晚會非常好玩．這次的高雄跨年晚會在愛河的附近，所以那裡的溫度很冷，差不多十二度．

大約十一點半，王力宏上台唱歌．他先後唱了「蓋世英雄」，「放開你的心」，「Kiss Goodbye」，和「改變自己」，都唱得非常好聽．

我很抱歉，我的照相機不能拍好看的電影，所以我沒有辦法拍到王力宏的live音樂會給你看．

For English Speakers

I went to the south of Taiwan for New Years with Cecilia's Mom and Dad.  This year the party was at the beach in Kaosiung.  You might think that since its the tropics it would be warm but it was only 10 degrees that night.  So we sat out in the cold for almost 2 hours and watched the singers and celebrities entertain us until New Years.

The best singer was definitely Wang Leehom.  For those of you who don't know, he is very very popular in Asia.  I have posted some of Wang Leehom's music videos below since I had no chance to record his live concert.

最近我開始看ＤＯＲＡＥＭＯＮ．拜我每天三點到三點半看ＤＯＲＡＥＭＯＮ．我喜歡看ＤＯＲＡＥＭＯＮ，因為ＤＯＲＡＥＭＯＮ是給小孩子看節目，所以文法和單字比較簡單．我看ＤＯＲＡＥＭＯＮ的時候，我大部分聽不懂，但是了解故事的意思．

我最喜歡的人物是ＤＯＲＡＥＭＯＮ，如果有什麼事發生了，他總是知該道怎麼辦．還有他有那個４Ｄ的口袋他可以用手把很多厲害的東西拿出來．

我很討厭大雄，他每次都會用ＤＯＲＡＥＭＯＮ給他的東西來製造一個麻煩．我希望ＤＯＲＡＥＭＯＮ可以把大雄放進去那個４Ｄ的口袋．

小兔兔是K小時候的娃娃．小兔兔真可愛，它的身體是白色的，有黑色的眼睛，還有粉紅色的鼻子．小兔兔很舊，不過它的毛還是很乾淨．

Ｋ很愛小兔兔，睡覺的時候，Ｋ會緊抱著小兔兔．看著Ｋ抱著小兔兔很可愛．所以我想趁Ｋ睡覺的時候，把小兔兔拿走，應該會很好玩．

妹妹也很愛小兔兔，但是妹妹常常欺負小兔兔，所以Ｋ把小兔兔帶回去嘉義了．

妹妹不是第一個人欺負小兔兔的．Ｋ小時候，有一天，Ｋ的兩個姊妹，Ｃ跟Ｓ把小兔兔丟來丟去，Ｋ沒辦法，就一直哭一直哭．因為Ｃ跟Ｓ想欺負小兔兔，她們覺得很好玩，所以她們兩個人不想停．對我來說，Ｋ的兩個姊妹很壞心．

八月十二號是Cecilia的生日．今天，我去了台北地下街找禮物．在那裡我發現一個很可愛的小白豬．你看，她有草莓蛋糕還有帶著珍珠項鍊，所以我請她跟我一起回家去．Cecilia看到她的新朋友的時候，真的很高興．Cecilia叫她Cutie．

之後我們跟Cecilia的大學朋友一起去吃真蛋糕了．我們吃了瑞士巧克力冰淇淋蛋糕．

 August 12 is Cecilia's birthday.  So today I went to Taipei underground street mall to look for a present.  There I found this little white pig with a heart shaped strawberry cake.  She is really cute with her little fork and pearl necklace.  So I brought her home so she could share her cake with us.  Cecilia named her Cutie.

上個月，在我們家附近的全家，我發現了這本雜誌叫「ＳＣＡＷＡＩＩ！」．我對它的題目很有興趣．可是我不知道為什麼他們把一個大大的「Ｓ」在「ＨＩＴ」的前面，意思是大便！我沒有看過大便頭髮，是真的嗎？大便頭髮是很好看還是非常臭？

Shit Hair!

Last month, I found this magazine at my local Family Mart convenience store.  I think the title of this magazine is very interesting.  But I don't know why they put a giant "S" in front of "HIT".  That spells "Shit".  I have never seen shit hair before.  Is there really such a thing?  Does shit hair look good or is it just really stinky?

Listen to Chinese music to learn Chinese

Recently, I have started listening to Taiwanese pop music as a way to learn Chinese.  I feel that listening to music is very enjoyable and makes learning new words easier.  I always try to learn the singer's Chinese name, song names, and album names.  This makes it easier to talk to my friends about the music I love.

I use a website called ezPeer to search for popular music and then use another program called Foxy to download it, 100% free is always the best.

I now have over 100 songs in my collection.  It's a good start but I try to keep it organzied using Windows Media Player 11.  When I'm organizing all my music, having to type the information into the song tags using Chinese reinforces what I have learned. 

Family members, if you want to listen to some Taiwanese pop music I can easily email a few songs to you if you are interested.

我最近搬到新的公寓房間．這裡是一房，一衛，加起來十二坪．我覺得住在這裡很舒服，因為我回來家的時候，家裡不熱，冷氣機也是新的，所以冷氣機不吵．我特別喜歡在這裡的洗澡，電熱水器的水很熱 ，而且又可以持續熱很久．我叫它Romance 3000．我不知道它是男生還是女生．算了！Romance 3000很棒．

這裡也有別的好處．附近很安靜，上樓有洗衣機，金租很便宜，電視很大，還有鄰居人不吵我．這裡太棒了．我很高興．
